A court here yesterday sent 31 leaders and activists of BNP and its associates body Jubo Dal to jail in three cases filed in connection with violence during the blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party early this year, reports UNB.
The Judge of Bhola Senior Judicial Magistrate court passed the order after they were appeared before the court seeking bail.
Two cases were filed against the 31 leaders and activists with Sadar Police Station on January 5 and January 15 on charge of torching vehicles and attacking police during blockade. Another case was filed against them with the same police station on January 17 this year on same charges.
Meanwhile, a group of activists of BNP, Jubo Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) brought out a procession in the town today demanding the release of their detained leaders and activists.
