Road blocked demanding arrest of killer

A group of construction workers under the banner of ‘Bangladesh Nirman Shramik Sangram Parishad’ blocked city road yesterday at Sadar road demanding justice over the killing of one of their fellows. 

They also held demonstration and formed a human chain in the city for the same demand. The rally presided by president of the Parishad Barisal unit Abdul Jalil. Leaders of the union addressed. At one stage protesters ransacked three auto-rickshaws.During the protest meeting, the workers blocked Sadar Road, Girja Moholla, Kathpotty, Fakirbari, Bogra Road area and formed a human chain. Later they brought out a protest procession.  Mentionable that construction worker named Azad Sikdar was beaten and received head injury allegedly by Md Kobir Hosen of Sagardi area of the city on April 30.   Later he died at Barisal Sher –e- Bangla Medical College Hospital on May 4.
