The Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested six alleged fraudsters of a racket from a house adjacent to Baby Super Market under Panchlaish police station yesterday. The arrestees were identified as --- Md Shahabuddin Bachchu (45) and his wife Sheli Akter (34), Sharmin Akter Priya (22), Md Selim (48), Md Osman (34) and Minhaj Uddin Enam (29).  “The six along with about 15 members of the racket were cheating people promising love or marriage by their female members and they also kidnapped people and took money from the victims forcibly snapping their pictures with girls. They took money amounting Tk 30,000 to Tk 3,00000 from each victim”, said SM Tanvir Arafat, Additional Assistant Commissioner of CMP (DB). Arafat said, “After receiving allegation we have arrested six of them from a house adjacent to Baby Super Market under Panchlaish police station yesterday around 5:30 am and the other frauds will arrest soon.” The arrestees were placed before the court and four cases were filed with different police stations in the city, Arafat added.
