3 held with yaba, spurious soft drinks
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives detained three persons with yaba tablets and spurious soft drinks in Chittagong and Rajshahi on Monday. In Chittagong, a team of RAB-7 on secret information raided a rented house of Diluara Begum Dilu, 35, at Balurtal in Jalalabad Residential Area under Chandgaon police station on Monday. Later, they arrested Dilu along with 3,000 yaba tablets, said ASP Shohel Mahmud, assistant director (Media) of RAB-7. The market price of the seized tablets is worth Tk 12 lakh, said Shohel. Contacted, Sairul Islam, officer-in-charge of Chandgaon police station, said a case was filed against the arrestee with Chandgaon Police Station under Narcotic Control Act. BSS adds from Rajshahi: RAB conducted a drive in Assam Colony area under Boalia Police Station of the city on Monday and detained two persons with huge spurious soft drinks and 7, 000 sex-stimulating tablets, RAB sources here said yesterday. The arrestees were identified as Raju Ahmed, 26, and Ashraful Islam, 22. A case was recorded with the police station concerned.
