Embracing the Other: A photography exhibition within a mosque premise

Shahidul Alam, one of the most innovative artists of Bangladesh, comes up with another groundbreaking photographic exhibition. This time he blends the past with the future. 

The photographic exhibition titled ‘Embracing the Other’ will take place on the field within the premise of Bait Ur Rouf Mosque, designed by Marina Tabassum, winner of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for 2016. This intimate, brief show is aimed at creating openness and the ability to reach out.
The show opens at 10:00 am tomorrow till 6:00pm. The exhibition is expected to tour globally. Dr Muhammad Ibrahim, Professor Department of Islamic History and Culture, Dhaka University, the photographer Dr Shahidul Alam who is the Managing Director of Drik Picture Library and Din Islam the imam of the Bait Ur Rouf Mosque will speak at the launch.
