Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza left Dhaka yesterday for London and is expected to join the side in Belfast, Ireland.
The national team at the moment stays in Belfast in a bid to take part in the Tri-nation series, also involving hosts Ireland and New Zealand. Mashrafe who returned to home on April 30 to accompany his ailing wife and baby daughter and son, firstly reached London and then took a connecting flight from there to join the side in Belfast.
Just before boarding the London-bound flight, the skipper however had to take his daughter Humaira to an eye specialist because of her old problem in eye. His son Sahel though recovered from the fever, his wife Sumana Haque Sumi is yet to recover fully.
“The problem could be happened when the series is going on. It’s good that problem arrived before the series. Everything though isn’t under control, hopefully it will be okay,” said the captain ahead of his departure.
He had to miss the Bangladesh’s two practice matches against Duke of Norfolk and Sussex XI but the situation was such that he had no time to think about it.
“It would have been good to play the practice matches. The cold is severe there, so it’s important to cope with the condition. However family always comes first.”
BCB director Jalal Yunus who is the team manager of the national team in the Tri-nation series accompanied Mashrafe.
