A delegation from Cricket Australia (CA) will soon come to visit Dhaka to look into the logistic facilities and other arrangements including security of Bangladesh this month ahead of the Test series.
The two-match Test series between Bangladesh and Australia is scheduled to take place in between August and September.
It is surfaced out through international media that Australia has not given their green signal yet regarding their tour in Bangladesh. But they informed that they will hold their tour in Bangladesh after getting security clearance.
In this regard, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that Australia send their delegation what they do prior to their away tours in every possible times.
“You all know that when the teams like Australia, England and India make their tour at an away condition, they send a delegation for the pre-tour inspection. In its continuation, a delegation from Cricket Australia (CA) will soon visit Bangladesh and look into the facilities and other matters,” said Nizamuddin.
“By and large, it’s the normal practice. And then the concerned board gives their green signal,” Chowdhury told reporters yesterday.
“We hope that Australian delegation will come in Bangladesh in the middle or the last quarter of May,” he added.
BCB chief executive said that the schedule of the brief series is going on in that way.
“It’s a standard practice. There were concerned in the board beside its players. So it is an important matter for both to ensure all the facilities and arrangement before making their tour. The schedule is going on in that way,” the chief executive told in response to a query.
After ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan was slated to tour in Bangladesh to play a full-fledged series. But Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed their reluctance to play the series in Bangladesh. They did it without serving any notice.
