Siblings drown in Mahalchhari

Two siblings drowned at a canal at Sawmill Para in Mahalchhari upazila of the district yesterday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Urmi Chakma, 7, and Anion Chakma, 3, children of Arben Chakma of the area. OC of Mahalchhari police station Semaiun Kabir Chowdhury said Urmi Chakma and his brother Anion Chakma drowned when they went to a nearby canal to take bath at around 2.30pm yesterday. Local people rescued them and took them to Mahalchhari Upazila Health Complex, where duty doctors declared them dead.
