Bangladeshi swimmer Parul Akter yesterday clinched the gold medal in the women’s 100-metre freestyle in the ongoing Special Olympics Summer World Games clocking 01:31.06 seconds being held in Los Angels, USA, reports UNB. Mohammad Shahin of Bangladesh won the silver medal in the men’s 25-metre back stroke while Arif Arman Rohan and Munni Akter of Bangladesh took the bronze medals in the women’s 50-metre breaststroke and 25-metre breaststroke. In the Traditional Football competition, Bangladesh beat India by 3-0 goals while in the Unified Football, Bangladesh played to a 1-1 draw with Mexico.
