The diva Mitali Mukherjee is now in Dhaka to attend the grand finale of the children’s musical reality show ‘Khude Gaanraj’ as a guest judge. The sixth season of this audience-admired show will be held today evening at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Agargaon in the capital. The entire show will be aired live from the venue. Top seven contestants—Pranto, Angkan, Oika, Oishi, Tilottama, Othoi and Ishika will fight for the crown in the final round.
DhakaLive has news that Mitali Mukherjee has arrived in Dhaka yesterday afternoon and will join the show with two main judges Ferdous Ara and SI Tutul, two popular singers from Bangladesh.
Mitali Mukherjee said, “This is for the first time that I have come to Dhaka as a judge for any reality show. That is why my visit to Dhaka this time is much more joyous and prideful. This is a huge platform for the little singers. When I was young, I had no such big platform. Today’s children are really very lucky.”
“I am grateful to Channel i for inspiring me to attend the event. Truly, the entire matter touched my heart”, she added.
However, the champion of ‘Khude Gaanraj’ will receive five lakh taka, while the first runner up will get three lakh taka and second runner will get two lakh taka. Besides, the winners will have several lucrative opportunities, including participating in the regular shows of Channel i, releasing albums from Impress Audio Vision and studying in Cambrian School and College free of cost.
In the grand finale of ‘Khude Gaanraj’ today, a number of 80 child artistes will perform will film actress Mahiya Mahi. Samina Chowdhury and Kumar Bishwajit will come up with patriotic song. Singers Sufi Mandal, Ankhi Alamgir, Shafiq Tuhin, Meher Afroz Shaon, Imran, Sharmin and Ashiq will perform with the top seven contestants.
To note, Mukherjee was born in Mymensingh (Bangladesh) to her parents Amulya Kumar Mukherjee and Kalyani Mukherjee. Mukherjee began her formal training in classical music under Pt. Mithun Dey. She studied music at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India.
She received the National Film Award of Bangladesh in 1982 for the song ‘Ei Dunia Ekhon To Ar’ for the film ‘Dui Poishar Alta’. Currently living in Mumbai, Mukherjee is married to Ghazal singer Bhupinder Singh.
