Fizz hopes to play good in UK tour

Fizz hopes to play good in UK tour
Mustafizur Rahman

Even though he was going through a tough phase of his career for the first time since his international debut, fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman refused to give up the hopes of doing well in the Tri-nation series in Ireland and ICC Champions Trophy.

‘The Fizz’ as he is adorably called, said, he has full confidence on his ability and that he would comeback with a bang with jersey of Bangladesh.
“I have full confidence on myself. I will try my best to give my best in the Tri-nation series and ICC Champions Trophy. I have been preparing myself and practicing that way,” Mustafizur said yesterday at BCB National Cricket Academy.
Mustafizur returned to home Wednesday night from the IPL where he played just one match for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In that match, the ‘Cutter Master’ gave away 34 runs in 2.4 overs after which he wasn’t included into final XI in any of the match.
In the last season, Mustafizur created a huge sensation with his magical performance which even helped the SRH clinch the title for the first time in IPL. The Fizz finished with 17 wickets in 16 matches with an economy rate slightly over 6. That was the performance that SRH management straightway included him into the best XI once he joined the side after completing the Sri Lanka tour with Bangladesh.
But the performance this season was frustrating and more importantly SRH got some overseas players in Afghanistan Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi who also impressed like the way Mustafizur did in the last year.
Though he sporadically did well, Mustafizur’s performance in general across the format has been frustrating after he joined the side following his shoulder injury. Even skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza cited his performance as natural while he said the performance at the start of his career was supernatural and that no one should now expect that sort of performance.
Mashrafe said since the opponents now figures out Mustafizur, it would be tougher for him now to claim wickets in cluster.  The time has really been changed for the 21-year old. While he last season got a floral reception upon his return from the IPL, this year he landed the airport almost unnoticed.
However Mustafizur remain clam and confident even though he wasn’t used to what happened at the moment with him.
“I didn’t know whether they (SRH) would play me. I was there to play but after the first match, I didn’t get my chance. There were some good overseas players in the team. Probably that’s why my chance didn’t come.”
“Even though I played just one match, I have learnt many things watching the world class players there. That is also a learning curve.”
“I want to give my best with national jersey. Champions Trophy is far way and before that we’ll play the tri-nation series. So there is chance to have a good practice. Apart from that we all players will stay together for a long time, so it’s the opportunity for us to prepare well for everything.”
Like Mustafizur Rahman, ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also got just one match to play in IPL. Shakib returned to home yesterday night and will attend the marriage ceremony of his sister after which he along with Mustafizur and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will catch the London-bound plane to on Friday night to join the side in Sussex.
