A total of 90.70 per cent examinees came out successful in Secondary Certificate (SSC) Examinations-2017 held under Rajshahi Education Board (REB).
The total number of appeared examinees was 1, 66,938 of them 1,51,406 came out successful.
The percentage of pass of female students was 91.44 per cent whereas the percentage for pass of male students was 90.01 per cent.
A total of 9,075 male students scored GPA-5 while the number of female GPA-5 recipients is 8,274 totaling 17,349 this year. Professor Tarun Kumar Sarker, Controller of Examinations of Rajshahi Education Board has expressed his satisfaction at the result.
Earlier, on Thursday noon, the result of SSC was formally declared through a press conference held at REB auditorium.
Presided over by, Dr Anarul Haque Pramanik, Secretary of REBthe press conference was attended among others, Inspector of Colleges Akbor Hossain, Inspector of Schools Debashis Ranjan Ray, Head Assessment Officer SM Golam Azam, Senior System Analyst Engineer Shafiqul Islam and PRO AFM Khairul Islam. Milestone School College achieved the jubilant results in SSC examination under Dhaka education board. In this year total 1,208 students (Bangla and English version) appeared at the examination from this college. Success rate is 99.92per cent and 824 students scored GPA-5 and 383 students got A Grade. 68.21per cent students achieved GPA-5. A total of 958 students appeared from Science Group, 806 scored GPA-5 and 151 students got A Grade. A total of 250 students appeared from Commerce Group and 18 students scored GPA-5 and 232 students scored A grade.
BSS adds from Chittagong: A total of 99,022 students came out successful in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) this year with the decrease of both percentage of pass and number of GPA-5 scorers, reports BSS.
According to results published yesterday, the pass rate in CEB is 83.99, which is 6.46 per cent less than the previous year. Last year, the pass rate was 90.44 per cent. A total of 8,344 students secured GPA-5 this year and 8,502 in last year, while Chittagong Collegiate School ranks the top in the best 10 educational institutions in eight consecutive times under CEB this year. A total of 4,053 male students got GPA--5 while 4,291 female students achieved GPA-5. Only 7.08 per cent of the total students who appeared in the examination obtained GPA-5. Among the successful, the male students are 46,598 while female students are 52,424.
Government Muslim High School and Dr Khastagir Government Girls High School have secured the second and third position respectively while Bangladesh Mohila Samity High School, Nasirabad Government Boys High School became 4th and 5th position respectively in the top 10 institutions.
A total of 24,419 students from science group, 24,570 from humanities group and 50,033 from business administration group from 1,011 institutions participated in the SSC examinations this year under the board.
