Customs officials seized 60 gold bars, weighing around 6.960 kg, from a flight in an abandoned condition at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday.
Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Saidul Islam told UNB that the flight ‘BS202’ of US-Bangla Airlines from Kalkata landed at the airport around 2pm. Tipped off, the customs officials conducted a search in the aircraft and recovered the gold bullion worth Tk 3.50 crore from beneath a seat around 4pm, he said. However, there is no arrest.
