5 bodies recovered in Rajshahi boat capsize

RAJSHAHI: The bodies of five people including two minors, who went missing after a boat capsized in the Padma River in Dorgapara area of the district town on Sunday evening, were recovered on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Sarwer Hossain Rafiq, 45, and Robin, 28, both residents of Dorgapara area, Asadul, 45, of Khanpur area, and Ahad, 9, and Tamim, 9, students of Shah Mukhdum Jamia Islamia Madrasa.
The boat carrying 7-8 passengers sank in the river as a nor'wester lashed the district around 7pm on Sunday, said Nurul Islam, director of Rajshahi Fire Service.
Among them, five people including two minors remained traceless while others managed to swim shore.
Fire service divers recovered their bodies as locals spotted their bodies in Talaimari area of the river around 6am, added Nurul Islam.
