U-16 women team finish China tour on happy note

Bangladesh Under-16 national football women team finished their China tour with winning note when they defeated Chinese Under-14 team by 3-1 yesterday at the Olympic Sports Village in Xian of Shaanxi Province.
Bangladesh, who began their tour with a 0-1 defeat to Shaanxi province Under-15 team, finished their five match tour with three wins, one draw and conceding one defeat.
However, in the last match of the tour, Swapna scored twice and Monika Chakma added one goal to win the match.
According to a message from BFF, Bangladesh women team dominated the match while Swapna initiated the scoring in the very eighth minute to take lead.
Swapna doubled the advantage on 23rd minute with a good header while Monika Chakma sealed the victory with scoring on 87th minute. The Chinese team scored the consolation in the 90th minute.   
Bangladesh National Under-16 women team who earlier became unbeaten champion in the Group E in the qualifying round held in September 2016 in Dhaka, moved into final phase of the AFC age group competition.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) arranged the preparation matches for the final phase. Before the China tour, Bangladesh Under-16 also visited Japan and Singapore and played practice matches and also have plan to arrange some matches in South Korea.           
Meanwhile, apart from Bangladesh, three times champions Japan, two times champions North Korea, South Korea, Australia, China, Laos and the host Thailand are the other teams of the final phase.
This AFC competition of Under-16 is also the qualifiers of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Uruguay in 2018.  
Bangladesh team is scheduled to return home today.
