Probe body to submit report on bizarre match soon

The three-member probe committee which was formed to investigate the bizarre Second Division League match which saw a bowler conceded 94 runs off four balls would take three days more to complete the formalities.
The committee consisted of BCB directors Jalal Yunus, Akram Khan and Sheikh Sohel was due to submit the report on Tuesday but due to the absence of Sheikh Sohel who was in abroad, could not sit for meeting.
“Sheikh Sohel just has come to the country. Hopefully we’ll sit tomorrow (Thursday) to look into the matters,” said Akram Khan, one of the members of the committee.
“We’ll submit the report within two or three days, recommending exemplary punishments for those who will be found guilty.”
The decision to investigate the match between Lalmatia Club and Axiom Cricketers came up during a BCB meeting on last Saturday after it hit international headlines, causing a discomfort to the cricket officials.
Lalmatia bowler Sujon Mahmud conceded 92 runs off four balls which the club said as mark of protest against poor umpiring throughout the season.
The club said during the alleged match umpire did not even allow their captain to see the coin after toss.
With Sheikh Sohel is absent, Akram and Jalal had already interrogated the Lalmatia bowler Sujon Mahmud who bowled that incidental over, along with two Axiom openers and took the version of two umpires of that match.
Akram added that they were also investigating an other match between Fire Fighters and India Road Krira Chakra as that became relevant. During the match, Taslim Hossain of Fire Fighters conceded 64 runs in his spell of 1.1 overs.
