Bangladesh pace prodigy Mustafizur Rahman completed his two years in international cricket on Monday.
On this day, the young pace sensation capped for Bangladesh in Twenty20 against Pakistan at home turf in 2015. He snapped up two wickets giving away 20 runs in his four-over spell. He made his one-day debut against the same opponent in the next month, where he took five and six wickets in his first two matches.
Against South Africa, Mustafiz made his Test debut, where he picked up four wickets for just 37 in 17.4 overs with six maiden overs in first innings. Due to rains, the match could not precede on much and so he though bowled five overs remained wicketlss in second innings.
Following his jaw-dropping performance in IPL, the paceman went to England to play county Cricket for Sussex Country Cricket Club and sustained in injury on his left shoulder. Therefore, he though came back in cricket after six-month layoff following his surgical operation, lost his wicket-taking capability.
Mashrafe called this situation of the pacer as normal, stating that he has to work hard to take wicket.
“It seems to be normal what he does in the current period,” said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
“It was abnormality what he got in the threshold of his career because it was an astonishing matter when you got 30 more wickets after coming into international cricket,” Mashrafe told newsmen.
“But it’ll now be happened that he has to grab wickets by hard working. Batsmen read him. Computer analyst in every top team analysis his weakness and strong sides,” he added.
Mashrafe of course thinks that his injury is also responsible behind his current condition. The pace all-rounder said that they all should support him to overcome the situation.
“He recuperated from his injury just for the three months. Now he is in 19-20 year-old. The situation is difficult for him. If we put pressure on him it will be very difficult for him,” he said.
“He already proved himself as the future asset for Bangladesh. If we could keep him relax not to think much what he did and think the reality he will give his service for the next 10 years as asset of Bangladesh,” the one-day captain said of Mustafiz.
