Pubali Bank donates Tk 5 lakh to BUET
Pubali Bank Limited has donated Tk 5 lakh to Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Pubali Bank Ltd Managing Director and CEO M Abdul Halim Chowdhury handed over the cheque to CSE department head Prof Dr M Sohel Rahman recently, said a press release on Monday. BUET Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Faculty Dean Prof Dr M Kaykobad, Pubali Bank Additional Managing Director Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury, and its Deputy Managing Director and Chief Technical Officer Mohammad Ali, among others, were present on the occasion.  BUET Rayo, a team from BUET, has qualified to represent Bangladesh in the most prestigious computer programming contest, 'International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC)' which will be held at the United States. The donation will be spent as financial assistance for the participation of the students from BUET, added the press release.

Symposium held at International Turkish Hope School
A symposium on ‘The Role of a Teacher as a Nation Builder” was held at International Turkish Hope School on Saturday, says a press release. 
The programme was conducted in its main auditorium at Sector 4, Uttara, Dhaka. Prof Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam was the keynote speaker; the teaching staff of Turkish Hope attended the programme. 
Principal of ITHS, Yavuz Koca, delivered welcome speech and gave a presentation titled as `Characteristics of Wise Teachers’. Ms. Roksana Zareen (Deputy Head of Uttara Pre-School), Ismail Akbas (Head of Gulshan Sections) and Ms. Nafisa Talukdar (Student Counselor of ITHS) presented their sessions on a Teachers Role in Nation Building.   Prof Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam, mesmerised the audience with his speech while elaborately explaining the mannerism and importance of playing a significant roles as teachers in nation building. Bedrettin Suata, Chairman of Standing Committee of ITHS thanked everyone for attending and participating in this symposium and handed over a token of appreciation to him on behalf of ITHS.
