Group exhibition ‘Loving Memory’ begins at
Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts

Featuring the artworks by 60 renowned artists of Bangladesh, an exhibition titled ‘Loving Memory’ began at the Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts in the capital’s Pragati Sharani, North Badda on Saturday.
Around 80 artworks, themed around memories of Abinta Kabir, include works by 60 famous painters like Rafiqun Nabi, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Syed Jahangir and others.
Cultural Affairs Minister Azaduzzaman Noor attended the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition as chief guest, while Bengal Group Chairman Abul Khair Litu was present as special guest.
Ruba Ahmed, mother of Abinta Kabir, described Abinta’s unique taste in arts and her enthusiasm in visiting arts exhibitions. She especially mentioned about the appreciation by the senior artists on Abinta’s taste in arts. She thanked all the participating artists for their time, love, and their effort to honour Abinta’s memory.
Asaduzzaman Noor condemned the heinous activities of extremist terrorists in his speech, and mentioned all good words he heard about the multi-talented Abinta, who had displayed great talent and vision during her short yet highly promising lifespan.
With the exhibition in mind, an art camp was organized with the artists on February 17 and 18, 2017, where the artists painted the artworks being displayed at the exhibition as their tribute to the memory of Abinta. The money earned from selling the artworks will be donated to schools, acid victim survivors, and others who are in need of help, which is in line with Abinta’s dream.
The exhibition is open to the public every day (except Monday) from 10 am to 8 pm, until May 22.
