Solo painting show Canvas Chronicles underway at AFD

A solo painting exhibition titled Canvas Chronicles by artist Saima M Khan is currently underway at Galerie Zoom, Alliance Franaise de Dhaka in the capital.
The inaugural ceremony of this exhibition was held on Saturday. Professor Dr Akhter Hossain, Chairman, Department of Public Administration, University of Dhaka was present at the event as the chief guest, while artist Muniruzzaman, Director, Department of Fine Arts, Bangladesh Shilpokala Academy also attended the opening ceremony as the special guest.
Saima M Khans canvas does not simply encrust a moment in time. Through the canvas captures animation and in a trice, instills a real liveable moment inside the cerebration of the observer, Khans canvas does more.
Each of her paintings has a story of its own and these stories, these chronicles far away, are formed from emotions greatly familiar, and are made of colours that are as relatable as night and day, the combination of which results in a beautiful congress. The canvases are merely where these chronicles come to life.
Saima M Khan, a student of Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, is a passionate painter who dreams of leaving a mark in the field of arts. She also happens to be an aspiring writer whose works have appeared in the issues of Six Seasons Review, published by Bengal Foundation.
The exhibition will is open to all, until May 6 and can be visited according to the following schedule Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday (9 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 8 pm; closed on Sunday.
