Man beaten to death

A sexagenarian was beaten to death by his neighbours over a land-related dispute in Notun Shukhchar village of Hatia upazila yesterday morning.
Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Hatia police station Abdul Mazid said Gias Uddin, 65, got into an altercation with his neighbours Sohrab and Elias over their rain-reduced walkway in the village.
The altercation occurred around 7am, and saw Sohrab and Elias beating Gias with a stick, leaving him critically injured.
Later relatives rushed him to Hatia’s upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
