Sabbir, Mehedi vow to do better result

Bangladesh stroke-maker Sabbir Rahman on Sunday said that they want to replicate the approach what they adopted at the time of the Down Under World Cup in 2015 and made good result.

Bangladesh flattened England and were in position to thrash India in the seam-friendly condition in Australia and New Zealand.
“We want to evolve throughout the tournaments- in triangular series and ICC Champions Trophy match by match strategy,” said Sabbir Rahman, who has past experienced to play in English condition for Bangladesh Under-19 in 2009.
“By following the approach, we got good result in the World Cup in Australia-New Zealand. This time we’ll try to give our hundred percent for the team’s success in the similar condition,” Sabbir told newsmen.
Like other national players, Sabbir is working hard besides playing in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) ahead of Champions Trophy, which will be held in England in June after the conclusion of the tri-nation series in Ireland in May.
“There is no similarity with our weather and condition. Basically it will be a big difference with conditions and weather,” the 22-year-old batsman said.
“Keeping those things in mind, we all are doing practice individually with the help of bowling machine and concrete slab as well the premier league so that we could maintain the speed and pace in those conditions,” Sabbir told reporters after the end of his gym session at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) gymnasium yesterday.
The stroke-maker said that they will have every possibility to fare well if they could perform their better cricket.
“Our first target in Champions Trophy is to play better cricket. The way we have been playing since the last few years. The confidence we have built up, we believe, we will play better cricket against any team,” the 22-year-old batsman thought.
“Run is important whatever level I play. It gives me confidence for the next matches or tournaments. I want to make runs what number of match or matches I play,” he told media.
“It’s a positive sign that all the national team’s players are doing well. Batsmen are scoring runs and bowlers are bowling well. It will be helpful for our team. It will morally boost up players’ confidence,” he added.
He said that his best effort will be in Champions Trophy to show off myself across the world.
Bangladesh will launch their Champions League campaign with the hosts England in Kennington Oval on June I. When asked about if possible to beat them at home yard, Sabbir said that if they could play their possible best then it is possible to trounce at any team.
“Actually the home advantage will be for England. But I told that we will play as per the team. Which team will be our opponent that’s not a matter of watching for us?,”he said, adding “If we could give our hundred percent then we could beat any team and that will be main focus.”
On the other hand, Mehedi Hasan Miraj said that they want to keep the mark of progress what they made since the last few years.
“Obviously target will be to fetch better result for the team and the country. We’ve Tri-nation series and then Champions Trophy ahead. We’ve enough improved day by day. Last series we all performed well barring one or two. It’s good sign for a team. The good result is not possible when only one or two players perform,” Mehedi Hasan said.
“The way the board has been taking care of me since the age-level cricket. It is also a responsibility for me that I have to show for the country,” Hasan also said.
