Microsoft Imagine Access collaboration with Stamford University Bangladesh

Microsoft Imagine Access is a Microsoft Programme that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research purposes. The department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) of Stamford University Bangladesh is now Microsoft Imagine listed School, says a press release.
Microsoft Imagine connects students with the Microsoft software, software development tools, resources and experiences they need to elevate their skills for today's working world. Whether it's designing an app, building a game or launching a project, Microsoft Imagine helps students develop their ideas and boldly bring them to life.
This is a rare opportunity for students and faculty members to download hundreds of Microsoft Imagine Premium Software License for 3 years completely free offered by Microsoft. The department chairman Dr Kamruddin Nur expressed his gratitude to Microsoft for providing such an opportunity to students, faculty members and staffs of Stamford University Bangladesh.  

Academic programme for trade unionists launched
The Academy of Work, a three-month training programme in the fields of international relations and social partnership for trade unionists, was launched recently, says a press release.
Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS), Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) jointly launched the academic programme.  Sixteen mid-level, active trade unionists from industries such as the readymade garments, construction, transport, as well as government service sectors like, postal services and telecommunication, are participating in the programme. 
The courses focus on a number of areas, including industrial relations and labour policies, globalisation and trade, global supply chain and workers’ rights, health and safety. The successful completion of the programme will qualify the participants for a comprehensive understanding of decent work in the global supply chain and will contribute in creating an effective dialogue amongst independent trade unions, employers and the government of Bangladesh. The event was attended by Michael Sommer, vice-chairman of the FES and former President of the International Trade Union Confederation and German Confederation of Trade Unions, Dr Thomas Prinz, German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Prof Martin Allespach from the University of Frankfurt and Mujibul Haque, State Minister for Labour and Employment of Bangladesh.  
Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed, Executive Director of BILS, Dr Sultan Hafeez Rahman, Executive Director of BIGD-BRAC University and Franziska Korn, Resident Representative of FES Bangladesh also spoke on the occasion.
