Tk 5,000cr project to address water-logging in Ctg: Nasir

The incumbent Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor AJM Nasir Uddin yesterday introduced a new plan to address prolong water-logging in the city.

Chinapower Limited, a China company has conducted the feasibility study of the project titled, “Feasibility Study of Flood Control & Water Logging Management System of Chittagong City, Bangladesh,” and handed over it to the CCC mayor yesterday. Spending a total of Tk47 crore the company conducted the study in the last nine months. To implement the project a total of Tk5, 000 crore and three years’ time will be needed, said AJM Nasir in a press briefing yesterday at CCC’s conference hall. During the briefing 19 representatives of China power limited were present.
He said he has taken two types of project to address the water-logging one is short-time and other is long-time project. In the short-time project cleaning the drain for receding water quickly. The long time project including five kinds projects—Flood Protection Project, Water logging Drainage Project, Polluted Watercourse Flushing Project, Landscape project and Sewerage interception and treatment project.
