Bangladesh Under-16 women’s football team began their China tour with conceding a 1-0 defeat to China Under-14 XI in their first match of four practice matches scheduled to play against different teams in China.
Bangladesh National Under-16 women team who went China to play the preparation matches ahead of their AFC U-16 competition final round to be held in Thailand in September.
Bangladesh Under-16 moved into the final of the AFC age group final round as unbeaten champions in their group. Bangladesh team will play their second match today against the Shaanxi Province’s U-15.
Meanwhile, apart from Bangladesh, three times champions Japan, two times champions North Korea, South Korea, Australia, China, Laos and the host Thailand are the other teams of the final phase.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) have been trying heart and soul to prepare the team to play with the eight Asian soccer powerhouses.
BFF have already arranged preparation matches earlier for the team in Japan and Singapore while the local and foreign coaching staff are working with the girls while BFF also planned to send the team to South Korea after return from China to play some preparation matches. This AFC competition of Under-16 is also the qualifiers of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Uruguay in 2018.
