Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday approved the increased structure of salary, match fee and other facilities for the contracted players at their 16th board meeting ahead of the tri-nation series and ICC Champions Trophy.

The board also increased the amount of the bonus money for the players along with other issues.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon disclosed all to media at the press meet after coming out of the meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday. 
“An issue regarding players’ salary that has been presented at today’s board meeting what we approved. Along with that, we have nodded the increased structure of the match fee across all three formats for the contracted players,” said Nazmul Hassan.    
Papon was accompanied by directors AZM Nasir, Jalal Younus, Afzalur Rahman Sinha, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Saiful Alam Chowdhury, Advocate Abdul Awal and Shafiul Alam Chowdhury on the occasion.
The contracted players, splitting into five categories including A+, A, B, C and D, will enjoy the new hike of windfall approved by the board. But the BCB is yet to announce the names of the players, who will be entered into the new contract. Their names will soon be declared.   
As per the increased structure, A+ category player will receive Tk four lakh in place of Tk 2.50 taka, category ‘A’ will get Tk three lakh in lieu of Tk two lakh, category B rewarded with Tk two lakh in place of Tk 1.5 lakh, while category ‘C’ will be awarded with Tk 1.50 lakh instead of Tk one lakh and Category ‘D’ will obtain Tk one lakh in lieu of Tk 75,000.00. 
Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mahmudullah Riyad, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman Rumman, Mominul Haque, Nasir Hossain, Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Mustafizur Rahman, Al Amin Hossain were under the board’s last year contract.
This year some players will be excluded and some will be entered freshly into the contract for the 2016-2017. It is learnt that Nasir Hossain along with Al Amin Hossain and Arafat Sunny will be slashed, while Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Taskin Ahmed and Kamrul Islam Rabbi will be introduced into the new contract.
The board will introduce a new indicator to categorise their contracted players from this year.  “Players have been categorized only by the point system in the past years. But we will consider the player’s performance ’to categorise their contracted players along with the point system,” Papon said.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan named director Sheikh Sohel as the new chairman of the BCB Umpires Committee. The post remained vacant for the last two days because of the demise of BCB director and its umpires committee chairman Nazmul Karim Tinku.
The contact of the national team with Robi Axiata Limited will be ended in May this year. So, the BCB have floated their tender for the sponsorship. Along with that, the board fixed the floor price at Tk 60 crore. 
“The auction of the sponsorship for the national team will be held on April 29. We will hold the auction for the next two years. We have fixed at Tk sixty crore as its floor price,” BCB boss revealed. 
The BCB formed a three-member powerful committee. We have deployed ACSU to investigate the matter of 92-run off 4 balls. Already ACSU submitted their report to the board. 
“We have formed a three-member powerful committee to discretely investigate the issue. Sheikh Sohel, Jalal Younus and Akram Khan are in the probe committee. They were asked to submit their report within the next three days,” Hassan informed.
