A Rajshahi Court sent two students of Rajshahi Universityto jail on Friday noon.
They were caught and handed over to police by the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Thursday for sharing Middle East-based extremists group Islamic States’ posts on their facebook timeline. The court passed the order after police produced Jubayer Hossain, a first year student of marketing department and Maksudul Hauqe, also first year student of biochemistry and molecular biology department before the court showing arrest in sabotage case and under 81 sections, said Humayon Kabir, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station. However, no proof of their involvement with the extremists group was found against them, he also added.
Police released Al Towfiq, a first year student of geography and environmental studies, who were also handed over to police with the duo. Earlier on Thursday, leaders and activists of BCL caught three students from the campus and handed over to police for sharing Middle East-based extremists group Islamic States’ posts on their facebook.
