Burned in attack, female HSC examinee dies at DMCH

A female HSC examinee, who suffered burn injuries in an attack by miscreants at Baliakandi village in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj on Monday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early yesterday, reports UNB. The victim was identified as Sonia Akhter, daughter of Shahidullah Miah of the village. Sonia was appearing at this year's HSC examination from Gazaria Dr Abdul Gaffar School and College. Sonia, who was undergoing treatment at the DMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery unit with 80 percent burns, succumbed to her injuries around 2am, said victim's mother Hazera Begum. Miscreants threw inflammable substances on Sonia near her house on Monday morning, leaving her injured critically.
