Khelaghar, Kalabagan taste first win

Amit Majumdar’s maiden List-A century steered Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity to taste their first victory over Partex Cricket Club by 77 runs in the third round of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) yesterday.
Kalabagan Krira Chakra led Mohammad Ashraful pulled off their first victory when they thumped Victoria Sporting Club by 10 wickets in Savar.    
Khelaghar vs Partex
At the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar, Khelaghar opted to bat first and compiled 288 for eight in 50 overs, after which Partex were bowled out for 211 in 45.1 overs.
After losing opener Salauddin Pappu measly, captain Nafees Iqbal partnered with Robiul Islam Robi hit 50-run for the second wicket. Both were dismissed in the gap of just three runs while Khelaghar was at 64 for three.
Bishawnath Halder increased the fuss when he removed Nazimuddin, who got out for 17.
At this stage, Nazmus Sadat appeared in the crease and pulled together an invaluable 133-run with Amit Majumdar for the fifth wicket stand before breaking the partnership.
Man-of-the match Majumdar clouted 85-ball 101 that laced with nine fours and three sixes in his 116-minute stay at wicket.
Nazmus Sadat made an explosive 79. His six-laden innings, where there were half-a-dozen sixes along with two fours before being dismissed.
Jubair Ahmed picked three wickets, while Mamun Hossain and Nuruzzaman Masum claimed two wickets apiece for Partex.
In reply, Partex Sporting Club got off a solid start as they put on 70 runs through their openers- Irfan Sukkur (35) and Sajjad Hossain (39). But they were losing their wickets at regular intervals after being broken the opening stand. They scored 65 runs at the cost of five wickets and another 58 for three wickets. Skipper Jubair Ahmed topscored for Partex with 44.
Sadiqur Rahman, Tanvir Islam and Ariful Islam scalped three wickets each for Khelaghar.
Kalabagan vs Victoria
Although Kalabagan missed to get significant contribution from skipper Asharaful and Hamilton Masakadza, they managed to muster a comprehensive 259 for six in 50 overs with the help of Mehrab Hossin Jr (63), Tushar Imran (56) and Muktar Ali (not out 52).
Ashraful fell for 10, while Masakadza chipped in with 11.
Mehrab clobbered three sixes as many fours in his 108-ball 63. Muktar blasted a whirl-wind 52 off 27 that featured with four sixes along with two fours to be remained unbeaten.
Tushar cracked 86-ball 56, hitting two fours and one six before being bowled by Monir Hossain, who bagged two wickets for Victoria. Apart from them, Tasamul Haque made 39-ball 44.
Victoria Sporting Club in reply tried to go with the same pace but could not break the hurdle of pace barrage of Kalabagan bowlers specially Abul Hasan Raju, Muktar Ali and Hamilton Masakadza though Nasiruddin Faruque (58) hit fifty-plus score along with Shafiul Hayet (64) and Moinul Islam (75). The bowler trio captured two wickets each for the winners. Muktar Ali was named player of the match for his all-round performance.
