Huge explosives, and several firearms and suicidal vests were found at a 'militant den' at Thanthalia village in Sadar upazila of Jhenidah yesterday, claimed police, reports UNB.
A team of bomb disposal unit of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) left Dhaka around 8pm for Jhenidah to defuse those, CTTC's additional deputy commissioner Sanwar Hossain, also chief of the bomb disposal unit, told UNB. "We hope we can start defusing the explosives and vests from early hours of Saturday," he said.
Earlier, the law enforcers condoned off the house at Thanthalia village in the evening suspecting it to be a
militant den. The CTTC unit members and the local police encircled the house around 6pm, said police super of the district Mizanur Rahman. Additional SP Ajgar Ali Sheikh said the local administration imposed section 144 at Thanthalia village.
