Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Tuesday rescued a schoolgirl (15) from Kamlapur village under Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district 50 days after her abduction, reports BSS.
The PBI also arrested kidnapper Soyaib alias Shef, (25), son of Saku Miah, at Nandina village of Gaibandha Sadar upazila and Masud Mollah, who gave him shelter at his house.
This was disclosed at a press conference by additional police super of PBI M. Anwar Hossain Miah at his office here on Tuesday afternoon. Additional Police Super Anwar Hossain said Soyaib along with his associates kidnapped the girl from Thanapara area of Gaibandha town on February 27 while she was returning home from a coaching centre.
Soon after the incident, the guardians and relatives of the victim searched for the girl at different places but could not find her. Later, the guardians filed a case with the Sadar Thana accusing Soyaib and his associates on March 01 under Women and Child Oppression Prevention Act. After few days, father of the victim went to the PBI office here and sought their cooperation to rescue her child. In response, the PBI started their searching activity. At one stage, the PBI ascertained the location of the victim using modern technology and rescued the kidnapped girl from Gopalganj district. The PBI team also detained the kidnapper Soyaib along with his shelter provider Masud Mollah.
A good number of journalists of the print and electronic media attended the conference.
