Two people were killed by lightning in two districts yesterday.
In Lalamonirhat, a housewife was killed and her husband seriously injured by lightning in Aminganj Kanchonoswar village under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district yesterday, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Noor Jahan Begum, 27, wife of Abul Kashem of the same village.
Police sources said, the tragic incident occurred when thunderbolt struck the house of Abul Kashem this noon amid inclement weather as they were remaining inside. Noor Jahan was killed on the spot while her husband badly burnt and rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical conditions.
In Meherpur, a farmer was killed by a thunderbolt at Fatehpur village under Sadar upazila of the district in the early hours of yesterday, reports BSS.
