Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan left for London yesterday to hold a meeting with International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary General Ki Tack Lim there, reports BSS.
The minister is leading a four-member delegation to London, said an official release.
The other members of the delegation are Shipping Department Director General Commodore Syed Ariful Islam, Chief Nautical Surveyor Captain KM Zasimuddin Sarker and Minister’s Personal Secretary MM Tarikul Islam.
Besides the meeting with IMO Secretary General, Shajahan will hold a meeting with leaders of London unit of Movement for Mass Trial of International War Crimes.
Bangladesh became a member of IMO, a specialized UN organization, with B-category in 1976. The IMO has 172 members. The minister is scheduled to return home on April 23, the release added.
