A three-day international tourism fair dubbed “Biman Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BBTTF)” begins today with the participation of 13 countries to boost domestic tourism sector, reports BSS.
Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) is organising the seventh edition of the mega event with the partnership of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines in city’s Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon is scheduled to open the fair as the chief guest.
Some 50 exhibitors from the 13 countries, especially from South and South-East Asia, would showcase their offer and packages for in and out bound travelers.
The participating countries are: Bhutan, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Philippine, Turkey, Cambodia, India and host Bangladesh. Apart from these, some tour operators of Indian states - - Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Kashmir and Tripura—would also take part at the BBTTF.
Apart from the tour and travel operators, airlines, local and international hotels and resorts, banks, liberation war museum, educational institutions as well as Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) and Tourism Authority of Thailand are attending the fair.
In the three-day BBTTF, several seminars would be also organised to materialize the scopes and potentialities of the country for tourism sector.
