Juba League activist hacked to death

A Juba league activist was hacked to death at Lalkhan Bazar area in the city on Tuesday night allegedly by his rivalry group. He was accused in sensational murder case of Khokon Sarkar of the area.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sharif alias Tempo Sharif, 24, a resident of Lalkhan Bazar area. Over the incident in a drive police arrested four Juba League activists including Hanif and Wasim. The incident took place when the deceased was returning from Fisherighat of his working place and that time a procession of Bangladesh Chhatra League was crossing WASA circle and the procession was being attacked by a group of Juba League activists. A chase and counter chase was taken place between the two groups at that time and some youths picked up Sharif to Lalkhan Bazar and hacked him.
He was rushed to the Chittagong Medical Hospital at around 8pm, however, the on duty doctor declared him as dead, said Sheikh Md Nasir Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulsi Police Station.
However, the OC claimed that murder was taken place to take revenge of Khokon murder.
Khokon Sarker was stabbed to death in an abandoned house on May 28, 2015 due to internal feud. Sharif was accused over the murder. Sharif and Khokon both was followers of Didarul Alam Masum, general secretary of Lalkhan bazaar ward Awami League.
