BNP announces 2 committees
The BNP yesterday announced two city committees for two Dhaka city corporations, inducting new faces. However, the party was yet to announce full committees and names for all the posts in both the cities will be announced later, says a press release issued last night.
The two Dhaka city units have been formed in the wake of failure of the city convening committee to reorganise the party at both thana and ward levels. It was formed some three years ago.
BNP joint secretary general Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel was made the president of the Dhaka South city unit and former commissioner MA Quaiyum for the Dhaka North city unit.
Kazi Abul Bashar was chosen as the general secretary of Dhaka South and former commissioner Ahsanullah Hasan as general secretary of the Dhaka North unit of the party. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia approved the committees last night, said her press wing member Shamsuddin Didar.
