10 shops gutted in Tangail

At least 10 shops were gutted as a fire broke out at Kanchonpur Dakhinpara Bazaar under Basail upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said the fire originated from an electric short-circuit in a shop at about 10 am of the Bazaar and soon engulfed the adjacent shops.
Being informed, three firefighting units from Basail and Tangail rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.
No actual financial losses were so far known although shop owners claimed that the loss may surpass Taka one crore.
