Man to die for killing wife in Jessore

A court in Jessore sentenced a man to death on Monday for killing his wife.The convict was Krishna Pada Sarker of Narayanpur in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore. The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh.
Judge Amit Kumar Dey of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal gave the verdict. According to court sources, Krishna killed his wife Anna Sarker for dowry in 2003.Later, Jotish Chandra Roy, brother of the victim filed a case with Keshabpur police station accusing Krishna Pada Sarker, his mother Karuna Sarker and Panchanan of the area in this connection.The court gave death penalty to Krishna and acquitted the others after long hearing.
