Al-Amin hits unbeaten ton for Prime Bank

Youngster Al-Amin Hossain hit a belligerent century as Prime Bank Cricket Club registered their second straight victory with an emphatic 59-run win over Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity in the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League yesterday at BKSP-3 ground.
Gazi Group Cricketers also continued their winning-run in the league, crushing Victoria Sporting Club by eight wickets at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium.
Prime Bank made a nightmarish start with Mehedi Maruf was dismissed in the first ball of the innings. Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman stopped the rut with a 52-run partnership and gave the side a platform form which Al-Amin took the onus to take the side in a safe distance.
Al-Amin was unbeaten on 106 off 94 with nine fours and three sixes as Prime Bank piled up 307 for six. Prime Bank bowlers then ensured it would not be a contest anymore as they wrapped up the opponents for 248 in 47.1 overs.
Aside Al-Amin, Zakir Hossain scored a whirlwind 38 ball-50 to help Prime Bank propel past 300. Soumya Sarkar scored 39 while Sabbir made 32.
For, Khelaghar, Nazmus Sadat was the top scorer with 56 and Amit Mojumder contributed 39.
Meanwhile, Indian recruit Parvej Rasul snapped up four for 28 as Gazi Group shot Victoria out for 177 in 48.4 overs. Uttam Sarkar with 29 was the highest scorer for the side.
Anamul Haque Bijoy and Jahurul Islam Omee shared a 101-run opening to make the chase one-way traffic and Gazi finally reached the target in 31.2 overs, making 181 for two.
Omee made 52 while Bijoy scored 50. Mominul Haque and Nasir Hossain were unbeaten on 30 and 41 runs respectively.
