A father, who was bringing his son’s dead body to Bangladesh from an Indian hospital, died at Petrapole, on the other side of Benapole land port, on Monday evening. They are M Rafiq and his son Md Asad of Gobindabaria village in Gazipur district. Fazlul Haque, sub inspector, Benapole immigration police told newsmen that M Rafiq died in massive cardiac arrest at Petrapole land port on Indian side while bringing back his son Md Asad’s body from an Indian hospital on Monday evening. The poor father took his son, who was suffering from cancer, to India on April 14. But M Rafiq died on his way to return home as the physicians refused to treat him due to critical stage of the patient. Also, the father died while he was bringing the body of his son towards Benapole. The body of Md Asad was handed over to his relative through Benapole while body of father was lying in an Indian hospital yesterday. People rushed to the port after hearing the information of the tragic incidents.
