Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) in partnership with the Trade and Competitiveness (T&C) Global Practice of the World Bank Group organised a technical workshop on ‘Doing Business (DB) Reform’ in the capital from April 10 to 13, a press statement said.
The purpose of the four-day workshop was to present detailed methodology of doing business and possible reform actions by the implementing agencies.
As Bangladesh targets to improve significantly in the global doing business ranking from 176 to double digit by 2021, the workshop presented a perfect opportunity to key policy makers, and stakeholders from 40 government and selected private sector agencies to discuss feasibility of the recommended reforms.
The workshop facilitated a dialogue on the importance of improving Bangladesh’s business environment through addressing legal and regulatory reforms, the statement added.
In order to cover all the key components of the doing business report, the workshop was structured to stimulate detailed discussions on the doing business methodologies and major indicators with relevant government agencies plus leading private sector representatives.
