3 die as boat sinks in haor

Sunamganj: Three people, including a woman and her daughter, died and another person went missing as a boat sank in Bheramohona Chatra haor in Shalla upazila yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Roshna Akhter, 30, wife of Imrul Islam, their daughter Jony Akhter, 5, and Sony Akhter, 3, daughter of Sadiqur Rahman while the missing is Josna Akhter, 37. All the victims hail from Dhampur village in the upazila. Local people said the boat carrying 11 people capsized in the Chatra haor around 3:30 pm after it was caught in a storm while going to Dhampur from Ajmiriganj upazila of Habiganj district. Three people died on the spot and another one went missing in the incident. Jinnat, sub-inspector of Shalla police station, confirmed the incident.
