A court in Chapainawab-ganj sentenced a man to 14 years’ rigorous imprisonment in an arms case yesterday afternoon.The convicted person is Angur, 35, of Sundarpur village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.The judge of the special tribunal-2 and additional district and session judge of Chapainawabganj Ziaur Rahman gave the verdict.
According to the prosecution story, a patrol team of Shibganj police station arrested Angur with a pistol, two magazines and two rounds of bullet from Monakasha Square in Shibganj upazila on September 25, 2014.Sub-inspector Abul Kalam Azad filed a case against Angur with Shibganj police station under the Arms Act on the same day.
Later, on October 31 of the same year sub-inspector Abdus Sabur submitted charge sheet against him to the court.After hearing the witnesses, the court gave the verdict in presence of the convict.
