‘Modern technology increases production’

BSS

NATORE: State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday said use of modern agro-technology has increased crop production in the country, reports BSS.“Bangladesh has not only achieved self-sufficiency in food production rather it has become a food-exporting country due to some effective steps taken by the present agriculture-friendly government,” the minister said while distributing agriculture incentives among the farmers of Singra upazila on the upazila parishad premises as chief guest.
Palak said farmers now can easily avail high yielding seeds, fertilizer, training on modern agriculture method and other agriculture inputs from the agriculture department round the year. As a result, the overall food production of the country is increasing day by day. Besides, use of modern technology has boosted the food production.
The government has already given laptops, multimedia projector, generator and smart phone to the model agriculture development clubs in the country. To solve any problem related to arable lands, farmers are getting immediate advice from the club using the technology, Palak added.
