25 arrested in Satkhira

Police arrested 25 persons including one activist of Jamaat-E-Islami from 10 upazilas of the district, reports BSS. Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district. During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested five persons, Kalaroa police four, Tala police three, Kaliganj police three, Shyamnagar police five, Assasuni police three including one activist of Jamaat-E-Islami, Patkelghata police one and Debhata police arrested one accused. Meanwhile, Shyamnagar Thana Police in a drive recovered 10-gram of Ganja and 20 pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned condition during the period. Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
