India has liberalised rules for medical visas for Bangladesh nationals in an effort to further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries, reports UNB. From now on, Bangladesh nationals visiting India for diagnosis will also be eligible for medical visas, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka yesterday. The decision came as announced during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s New Delhi tour on April 7-10. The proof of confirmation of appointment with a recognised Indian hospital and diagnosis of illness from doctors in Bangladesh reflecting the ailment should be attached with the medical visa application form. Other rules and conditions for granting medical visas shall remain unchanged. Medical visa applications are being accepted on a walk-in basis at IVAC Gulshan in Dhaka and all IVACs outside Dhaka.
