A court here on Monday placed, two alleged militants – Md Hasan and Md Jshim Uddin -- arrested from Comilla, on a 14-day remand in three cases.
They were put on a ten-day remand in two cases filed under the Anti-terrorism Act (in each case for five-day) while four-day in another case filed under Arms Act.
Chittagong Judicial Magistrate Abu Yousuf passed the order after officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station Iftekhar Hasan produced them before the court seeking a 45-day remand in the three cases. Earlier, they were shown arrested in three cases filed in connection with the raid on a 'militant hideout' that left four suspected militants dead in Sitakunda upazila, said the OC. Court Inspector of Chittagong District Police (H M Moshiur Rahman, said, “After hearing the plea filed by the OC the court granted five-day remand for each case lodged Anti-Terrorism Act and total 10-day remand in the two cases of Anti terrorist Act while the court granted more four-day remand in the case filed under Arms Act.
