Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam yesterday said Probashi Kallyan Bank will be made a scheduled bank for ensuring smooth services for expatriates, reports UNB.
Wage Earners Board of the Ministry provided Tk 50 crore to the bank authorities in this regard, said the minister while talking to journalists at his office in the city.
Besides, the Finance Division will provide Tk 250 crore more for registering it as a scheduled bank, he added.
Managing director of Probashi Kallyan Bank ANM Masrurul Huda Siraji said they will send a letter to the Bangladesh Bank (BB) as soon as possible in this regard.
The state-owned bank started its journey with a capital of Tk 100 crore, he said adding that they will arrange lucrative loan facilities for the people who will return home from abroad and want to start their own businesses to settle permanently in the country.
