Cop killed in Ctg road crash

Chittagong : A traffic constable was killed as a truck knocked him down at Chaturi Chowmuhuni in Chittagong city on Wednesday morning, reports UNB .
Dulal Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Anwara Police Station, said the truck hit constable Zahirul Islam, 50, hailing from Noakhali district, while he was performing duty there around 9:30am, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:15am, the OC added.
Police seized the truck but its driver and his helper fled the scene.
