Ctg JCD man ‘murder’

Cop among 13 sued

STAFF REPORTER, Ctg

Wife of ‘murdered’ Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central leader Nurul Alam Nuru yesterday filed a case in a Chittagong court accusing 13 people including a policeman, 14 days after the incident.

Nuru, a resident of Raojan  upazila was the  assistant secretary of JCD central Committee.  His bullet-hit body was found from Raojan upazila on March 30.  Sumi Akter, wife of Nuru, filed the case in the court of Chittagong metropolitan magistrate Masud Parvez.  The court accepted the case and held hearing on it, said Abdus Sattar, the plaintiff’s counsel.
The lawyer said the court also directed the officer-in-charges (OC) of all the police stations in the city and district to inform the court within April 20 whether any case in this connection was filed earlier, said.  The court will deliver next decision about the case after receiving reports from the OCs, said Sattar.
He said Sumi Akter made accused 13 persons in the case including Seikh Mohammad Javed, a police-sub inspector of Noapara Police Outpost at Raojan upazila in Chittagong. The other accused was also the residents of the upazila.
Sumi Alleged that the accused picked Nuru in the early hour of March 30 from their Chandanpura Residence in the city saying that they arrested Nuru  as an warranted accused in a case . Several hours after that, Nuru’s bullet-hit body was found at Bagoan area of Raojan upazila, said counsel Abdus Sattar.
Police on March 31 filed a case with Raojan Police station accusing several unidentified persons over the murder incident though the victim’s wife pointed her finger to cops.  However, police are yet to make any headway 14 days after  the sensational murder case.  The lawyer Abdus Sattar said family members of Nuru were taking preparation to lodge a case with the police station but police filed a case before the family members reached there.
He said family members of Nuru filed a case as they are not with the case which the police filed.
